POSTINGS IN KENTUCKY Associate Director of Health Sciences Center Communications & Marketing Duties include comprehensive marketing and communications planning, drafting and editing features, web content and press releases, media relations, print publications including academic program brochures, newsletters, annual reports and web sites. This position requires experience in media relations and/or publications, ability to use independent judgement and proactively coordinate communications with the Director, HSC Communications & Marketing and other members of the University administration at both the HSC and Belknap campuses. An MBA, experience in writing for the healthcare, real estate development, economic development, science or technical fields are strongly preferred. Must be able to handle several projects simultaneously and build positive relationships with the media and institutional partners, including public and private economic development entities, government entities at the local, state and national level.
Director of Development Kentucky Historical Society Foundation The Kentucky Historical Society Foundation, a 501 C 3 not-for-profit institution, exists to support the mission of the Kentucky Historical Society, a state agency and membership organization; The Foundation seeks an individual to work in a permanent full-time position based in Frankfort, Kentucky. The position oversees the Foundation’s annual fund program, membership program of the Kentucky Historical Society, and the day-to-day management of the Foundation’s development office. Annual Fund duties include participating in the development and implementation of annual fund strategies (includes the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts from a wide array of constituencies utilizing such tactics as personal solicitations, grant proposal development, phonathon coordination, on-line solicitations, sponsorships, special events and direct mail). Membership responsibilities entail direction, planning and administration of the Kentucky Historical Society’s 3,500 member program. The Director of Development will also serve as a key leader of a four-person development team and supervises all aspects of day-to-day operations to include: database management and coordination, donor relations, gift processing and tracking, records maintenance, reporting, financial management and budgeting, and office management. The position reports to the KHS Foundation Executive Director and is an integral part of the Society’s development leadership team. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and three years’ of fund raising experience. Computer skills, communication and organizational skills are essential. Evidence of professional development and participation in fund raising organizations required. Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software application and knowledge of KY philanthropic community is desirable. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
